Fishing week Gmundner Traun, Austria 2025

Dear fly fishermen, Already for the 18. season we will organize the fishing week "Learning by doing" in autumn 2025. We are already looking forward to a successful fishing week with some beautiful fish, great autumn weather and cozy evenings. You are welcome to visit 2 of the Austrian dream waters in fall 2025.

Fishing

Normally, October offers a great fishing for grayling and rainbow trout and represents a beautiful conclusion of the fly fishing season. We will fish for one week in the beautiful “Salzkammergut”, on 2 of the best rivers that Austria has to offer. We walk on Hans Gebetsroither's footsteps (the "inventor" of the Gebetsroither castingstyle) and fish at the famous river Gmundner Traun and the river Steyr near Grünburg (a fantastic grayling water)

Learning by doing

Unfortunately this fishing week is not suitable for beginners. At least you should be able to understand the overhead,- and the rollcast, and have already gained first experience in fly fishing. This week is suitable for fly fishing enthusiasts who want to experience "pure fly fishing" as well as for fly fishing enthusiasts who want to improve their casting and practical skills. Hans Spinnler addresses the individual wishes of every individual and will be happy to show you the various casts and show techniques with the dry fly and nymph.

Accomodation

We are located in the Hotel Wirt am Bach in Oberweis, just a few minutes from the Gmundner Traun. The friendly hotel offers us a pleasant and cozy atmosphere. www.wirtambach.at

Organizational

The fishing week starts with the arrival on Saturday the 20.09.2025. The departure day is Saturday 27.09.2025. We will fish from Sunday morning to Friday evening. We fish at the Gmundner Traun (4 days) and at the Steyr (2 days) near Grünburg. Instructor: Hans Spinnler, Master Flycasting Instructor (IFFF/EFFA) Participants: 6 Persons Price: Euro 1‘100.00 Including : Single room with breakfast,, all Licenses.
