Successful Flyfishing for large Atlantic Salmon
Fly fishing for Atlantic salmon is one of the biggest challenges for a fly fisher. When the Atlantic salmon moves into the rivers to spawn he takes no more food and therefore does not react to any presented bait just because he is hungry. The biting behavior of the salmon is now comparable to the playfulness of a cat. e.g if you wave a woolen thread along the floor and speed it up …… the cat follows its hunting instinct and attacks the wool. An experienced salmon fly fisher uses this fact to lead an atlantic salmon to attack his well presented fly. “CAST and HOPE” has nothing to do with Successful Flyfishing for Atlantic salmon. The presentation of the fly … at the right spot with the right speed … is the key to become a more successfull Salmon flyfisher.

Several factors are important for your effectiv and …. at the end successful presentation of your fly

Rod and line should be coordinated A good cast with a straight leader = 'the fly is fishing immediately' The angle of the cast to the flow direction and therefore the speed of the fly • To recognize the water and search the salmon stands. • Flypattern selection • Your behavior along the water
