Exclusive Salmon Fishing Adventure on the Orkla Experience some of the most beautiful fly stretches in the region: Around 4 km of first-class fishing water offer undisturbed salmon fly fishing with varied pools, classic pools, runs, and distinctive holding lies. A maximum of two rods per beat guarantees peace, space, and the highest quality experience on the water. Your base for this exclusive adventure is Aumnemo Lodge, located on the idyllic Aunemo farm in Fannrem, only about 45 km from Trondheim (75 km from Trondheim Værnes Airport). Our private beats extend over the first 35 kilometers of the Orkla River and provide consistently excellent fishing opportunities even with changing water levels. Flexibility and Tranquility for the Perfect Flyfishing Day The fishing week begins on Saturday at 8:00 PM and ends the following Saturday at 8:00 AM. During this time, fishing is available to you 24 hours a day – allowing maximum flexibility and individual planning of your perfect fishing day. We are pleased offer six private beats again: • Five beats operated in a proven 12- hour rotation system • One “Home Pool / Free for All” pool, available to our guests at any time • Four of the beats offer completely undisturbed and exclusive fishing from both riverbanks. • Two beats are fished from one riverbank only. Due to the difficult access on the opposite bank, fishing pressure there is extremely low. • The beats are fished in a 12-hour rotation, with a maximum of 2 rods per beat. • In total, we accommodate a maximum of ten rods per week at the lodge – ensuring an exclusive, relaxed, and high-quality fishing experience. The Benefits of the 12-Hour Rotation Our 12-hour rotation offers numerous advantages over the conventional 6- hour rotations of other providers. You are in control: Decide how often and how long you want to fish your beat. Resting an un-fished pool increases your chances of success by up to 50%, thus maximizing your opportunity to catch the big one. With 12 hours per beat, you have enough time to take breaks and rest without missing out on valuable fishing opportunities. A well-rested salmon fly fisher is more focused and precise – and that’s the key to success. Excellent Fishing Conditions On the beats of Aunemo Lodge, you’ll find ideal conditions to catch your dream salmon. In the 2025 season, a total of 84 salmon were caught, with an impressive average weight of 3.74 kg – a remarkable record! Notably, five of these fish weighed between 9 and 11.80 kg. The largest salmon of the season reached a proud 11.80 kg and measured 106 cm in length – a true giant, which was, of course, released.
